Humour & Comics: Purana Pyaar by Sumit Kumar
“Originally, comics had humor. Even the superhero comics, horror comics were funny in a way. Manga too has had lots of humor. But then comics became “darker” “grown up” and the creator, in an attempt to get “acceptance” in the “literary” world decided to call himself ‘graphic novelist’. In comics, almost everyone wants to be taken seriously.“
This session is about how cartoonist Sumit Kumar does not take himself seriously at all, and uses the loony in his work. A 30-minute talk will be followed by an audience QnA and a screening of the first episode of Aaapki Poojita, an original concept animated show by Sumit Kumar and Adhiraj Singh.
12:30 – 1:00
